Entranced Beings

In this series, a mirror image is created using interference and iridescent acrylic colors on a black surface. The image transferring is time-consuming and requires care in aligning two halves of a specially prepared paper. Random anthropomorphic images accidentally result when the paint is transferred. Once the painting process is complete, I apply mica colors to the surface. This final application creates a mosaic-like luminosity and a sense of mystery.

Guardians

This is another image transferring series using acrylic colors on a black surface. With these I scored the paper to eliminate the need for careful alignment. The title “Guardians” developed as I noticed the image of angel-like shapes appearing (accidentally) as I painted each one. Also, at this time I was feeling profound gratitude for all that I have in my life. With each piece I would send positive thoughts and intentions out to the earth and her inhabitants.
